The Rogue Valley Windchasers
is a non-profit organization dedicated to the wonderful world of kite flying
and kite making. This club was organized in April, 1998, had its first meeting
in May, 1998 and the Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws were adopted June,
1998. It is affiliated with the state AOK and the international AKA. This
club boasts approximately 90 active members not including our youngest kite
flyers.
The club meets the first Thursday of each month in
Grants Pass at Elmer's on Beacon Street. The meetings begin at 7:00 p.m.
and you are encouraged to come early and place your dinner order. These meetings
are structured but very informal and it is not uncommon for members to erupt
in hilarious laughter during discussions. The meetings are fun, informative
and various programs are presented to the membership. An agenda is sent out
prior to the meeting and minutes are produced and sent out after. Each member
is kept informed as to what is going on locally, statewide and internationally.
There is also a "fun-fly" held the first weekend of
each month at Crescent Beach in Crescent City, CA. (Anchor Harbor Way). These
"fun-flys" are Saturday and Sunday and anyone who would like to fly a kite
is welcome to join the fun! The kite flyers range from novice to expert and
there is always help available.
If you are interested in joining this club, please
call Membership Chairperson, Randy Fabich, 541-582-4220 for information or
simply attend a meeting. Anyone interested in Kite Flying for fun, for sport,
or relaxation is welcome! |
